The Steward of Her Heart

Margaret the chamberlain is close to breaking point. Without a steward, she’s working two jobs at once, and failing both in spectacular fashion. Throw in a heavily pregnant Lady McCaskill, and Margaret might very well find herself losing her marbles.

Fergus has problems of a different kind. His best friend’s sudden rise to laird has left the old man feeling rather lonely. The soldiers of the barracks don’t need him, the laird doesn’t have time for him, and all Fergus wants is to feel useful again. So, when the laird promotes Fergus to the role of acting steward, it seems like the perfect solution for everyone… until Margaret and Fergus begin to work together. As the sparks fly and personalities clash, will their pride be their undoing, or will they set aside their differences for the good of the laird? And perhaps, in the middle of it all, could they both find what they didn’t even know they were missing?
